The Department of Dermatology at Stanford is seeking applications for a full-time fellowship
position for the year 2019-20. The fellow will be based at Stanford University under the
mentorship of Dr. Joyce Teng; Stanford University School of Medicine; Division of Pediatric
Dermatology.

To date, there is still a significant lack of understanding about the natural history and
management of Gorlin Syndrome (GS). The main objective of the fellowship is to help establish
a national registry for GS and advance our knowledge in this field.

Eligibility
• The fellow is expected to complete research for the period proposed.
• The fellow cannot enter residency or other employment/training opportunities during
fellowship.
• Fellowship is primarily intended for candidate who already hold an M.D., however
applications to support exceptionally promising medical students will be accepted.
• The fellow does not need to be a United States citizen.
• Priority consideration may be given to those with prior training in clinical research, and/or an
interest in GS and dermatology.

Budget and project period
The Awardee will receive approximately $60,000 annual stipend that covers salary and fringe
benefit. The project period for this RFA is from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020.
Additional responsibilities
Fellow will participate in other relevant GS research projects; help to support Gorlin Syndrome
Alliance (GSA)’s general mission; and communicate with GSA leadership about research
progress. The fellow will participate GSA regional and national patient support meetings and
help the Executive Director on specific tasks if needed.
