Pediatric Dermatologist- NY

Northwell Health

The department of dermatology is looking to grow our pediatric dermatology division. We represent the only academic dermatology department in Nassau County, and we are one of the largest full-time academic practices in the New York metropolitan area. Our department was started 8 years ago by our chairman, Dr. Amit Garg. The department of dermatology has currently only one pediatric dermatologist. Our Children's hospital, Cohen Children’s Medical Center, has been ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation by US News & World Report 15 years in a row. We have a very busy children's hospital and numerous pediatric subspecialists with whom we work closely, including a vascular anomalies team. We work closely in educating our dermatology and pediatric residents as well as medical students.

This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape and grow our division as well as explore your research interests- clinical, trials work, big data, or translational.

The department engages in clinical and translational research that aims to have near-term impact in the overall health of patients with dermatologic disease. Our research programs also aim to support the development of students and trainees who are driven to foster innovation and advance the specialty through new knowledge.

With the heterogeneity of our patient population and the breadth of conditions treated in our department, our faculty and trainees have opportunities to pursue hypothesis driven prospective projects which can span the bench to bedside in collaboration with our scientists at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and the world-renowned Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

Big data is the engine behind our research program for health outcomes in dermatology. Through harnessing power in sample size along with granularity in detail, our research in health outcomes has focused on identifying comorbidities for inflammatory dermatologic diseases including hidradenitis suppurativa and psoriasis.

We would love to hear from you and explore your interests further!!
