The Department of Dermatology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dermatology on the clinician educator or clinician scholar line. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching, clinical excellence and academic scholarship. Duties include teaching of residents and medical students, direct patient care, and participation in scholarly activities. Clinical responsibilities will be conducted at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

The Keck School of Medicine of USC, founded in 1885, has been a close affiliate with Children's Hospital Los Angeles since 1932. Its mission has been to improve the quality of life for individuals and society by promoting health, preventing and curing disease, advancing biomedical research and educating tomorrow's physicians and scientists. The Department of Dermatology is rapidly growing with 24 full-time faculty. The pediatric dermatology division at CHLA, consisting of 4 full time board-certified pediatric dermatologists and a nurse practitioner, is actively engaged in inpatient and outpatient clinical care, teaching, research, and community outreach.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles has been named the best children's hospital on the West Coast and ranks among the top five in the nation for clinical excellence with its selection to the prestigious U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll. CHLA is a pediatric research and teaching hospital with 347 active inpatient beds and serves as a major regional referral center for children who require specialty services. The medical staff at CHLA includes nearly 600 physicians. In addition to its main campus in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, CHLA operates outpatient branches in the greater Los Angeles area, including Arcadia, Torrance, Encino, and Valencia. CHLA cares for the largest and most diverse patient population of any leading pediatric research hospital in North America, delivering care through approximately 319,000 annual outpatient visits and 13,800 inpatient visits, 70,000 emergency department visits, and 16,000 surgeries performed each year.
