Mission

Our mission is to build a community for pediatric dermatologists who deliver consultative services through education, research, and organizational support.

About

The SIG implemented an investigator group to research knowledge gaps in areas like proper biopsy technique in extremely premature neonates, evaluation and care of patients with severe drug eruptions, and early identification of disseminated infection in the immunocompromised child. SPD will collaborate with the Society for Dermatology Hospitalists on emerging issues like reimbursement for services and incorporating teledermatology into a consultative service.

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) SIG

Mission

Our mission is to build a community for advanced practice providers (APPs) who deliver dermatologic care to pediatric patients and their families through education, shared knowledge, collaboration and organizational support.

About

The purpose of the SPD APP SIG is to provide a forum for advanced practice dermatology providers to:

• Participate in educational and professional development opportunities specific to the APP role in pediatric dermatology
• Provide networking opportunities with colleagues
• Provide mentoring opportunities for new APPs in derm from seasoned colleagues
• Participate in interdisciplinary opportunities for patient education, advocacy and evidence based practice
