Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship for a Pediatrician

Saint Louis University

The Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Dermatology at Saint Louis University (SLU) is offering a unique 2 year, grant-funded Pediatric Dermatology fellowship training opportunity for a board-certified pediatrician. Patients are seen at Cardinal Glennon Children's hospital and 2 satellite outpatient locations, the only pediatric tertiary care referral center in the region that sees all patients without regard to insurance status. Our busy service cares for a diverse patient population with a wide range of ethnic backgrounds and skin-related problems. We supervise an active inpatient intensive skin care program, provide inpatient consultation, including PICU, NICU and transplant services, ED consultation and coordinated multidisciplinary care with a full range of other pediatric subspecialists. We also have an active clinical trials unit, and manage several clinical trials for new medications to meet unmet medical needs for a range of skin diseases in children. We have 1 full-time pediatric dermatologist to provide teaching and strong mentorship, a full-time nurse practitioner and the support of 7 full-time SLU Dermatology faculty as well as rotating pediatrics dermatology residents.

Scholarly activity will be emphasized, and time for this will be built into the program. In addition to training in medical, surgical and investigational pediatric dermatology, this position has the potential to lead to a permanent, full-time academic position at Saint Louis University.
