Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine

The Department of Dermatology at the North Shore LIJ Health System and the Hofstra NSLIJ School of Medicine is seeking fellowship trained Pediatric Dermatologists to join the full time academic faculty and establish the Division of Pediatric Dermatology.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of clinical and research programs in pediatric dermatology with the support of the department, the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children’s Hospital, and the North Shore LIJ Health System. With these positions, there are opportunities to incorporate interdisciplinary clinical and translational research as well as teaching, training, and administration. The candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with the community of private and academic pediatricians and pediatric dermatologists in the region. Salary is competitive and commensurate with academic rank and qualifications. The health system offers a generous package of fringe benefits.

The Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, treating over 230,000 children per year, is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the New York metropolitan region and has the area’s only pediatric bone marrow transplantation program. It has been ranked as one of the country’s top children’s hospitals in seven pediatric specialties by US News and World Report.

The North Shore LIJ Health System, comprising 16 hospitals (5 tertiary, 7 community, 3 specialty, 1 affiliate) and nearly 400 ambulatory and physician practices, has a service area of 7 million people in Long Island, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. With more than 2,400 full-time physicians, the Health System represents the nation’s sixth-largest group practice. Graduate Medical Education at North Shore LIJ supports over 1500 medical residents and fellows in 120 training programs, the scope for which will also includes programs in dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology, and procedural dermatology.
